A quiet family wedding in the city of York, and one that felt incredibly special to be part of as both a guest and photographer.

Erin and Sean wanted something simple and documentary-led, with just a handful of portraits to remember the day. Nothing overly structured, just honest moments as they unfolded.

Erin arrived at York Registry Office in a classic Jaguar 2.4 Litre, which felt like the perfect entrance for such an elegant, understated celebration.

The ceremony itself was simple and full of warmth. Just close family, a quiet exchange of vows, and that lovely feeling of everything slowing down for a moment.

Afterwards we stepped out into the gardens for portraits, taking things gently before wandering through York together. It didn’t take long before the city started to feel like part of the celebration too. People stopped to congratulate them in the street and cars beeped as they passed, adding to that feeling of the day unfolding naturally through the city.

From there we headed to 22 Yards, Erin’s old work place for champagne and a cheese board, which felt like the perfect relaxed pause in the day.

Later, everyone moved on to The Whippet Inn for a steak dinner, keeping things intimate and full of conversation, before finishing the evening at Sora rooftop bar for more champagne and cocktails as the city lit up below.

It was a day of quiet luxury and understated elegance, surrounded only by close family, and one that felt completely true to Erin and Sean in every way.
